It's not what lay behind, or what lies ahead, but what lies within ~Mark Twain
Michaela Renee is a freelance news journalist, who writes for the oldest newspaper in California- the Georgetown Gazette & Mountain Democrat. In 2009 she published a memoir Teetering on Disaster (a finalist in the San Diego Book Awards).
On the heels of Teetering, she started drafting a fiction novel, which takes a look into the life of a girl, who thought she knew and loved her father, only to learn he had been leading a secret life. She recently finished writing a children's book and is seeking an illustrator.
Michaela has a BA in Journalism, and a Masters in Psychology. She lives in Northern California with her husband, their son, Tuck and two dogs; a retired racing Greyhound (Rio), and a Golden Retriever (Dennis). She loves to travel and has visited over 15 countries. She also has a great love of the ocean and all things associated with it, especially crab with a side of drawn butter. When she's not writing she participates in a book club, works in the garden, plays golf and goes horseback riding.
